An Action-Packed Month and a Promising Season Ahead This past month has been a blur of sick sponsorship deals, intimate team bonding, and Lauri not seeming to get a break from getting beaten by the injury stick.  If you haven’t burnt a big enough hole in your pocket, be sure to place your order for a wetsuit or the new Blue Seventy tri suits!  The tri suit designs rock, and you will need a tri suit with our school colors and logo on it to race for us in the Spring. Now that we're more than halfway through the semester, it seems as though everyone has finally settled into a consistent workout schedule.  As a general rule of thumb, tri practice > studying for midterms!  Just kidding.

About Cal Triathlon

The Cal Triathlon Team works to promote the multi-sport lifestyle within the campus community and currently boasts the highest membership of the Cal club teams.  Everyone is welcome!  We are open to all skill levels and abilities from complete beginners to seasoned professionals.  With Cal Tri, you will find an adventurous team led by supportive coaches who will help you become the triathlete you want to be.

We train in the fall and race in the spring against schools across the west coast at the Sprint (750m Swim/20K bike/5K run) and Olympic (1.5k swim/40K bike/10k run) distance.  Top athletes compete in late April at USAT collegiate nationals.

Team History:

The UC Berkeley Triathlon team was founded in 1989. Since then, it has grown to be the largest athletics team at UC Berkeley, the largest club sport in the nation, and the most decorated collegiate triathlon team in the past 5 years. We reach out to more people in the community and the state than any other triathlon team in the nation.

Since it’s inception, the UC Berkeley Triathlon Team has excelled at every aspect of collegiate triathlon. The past five years have seen five individual medals every year, including two golds. The Men’s and Women’s teams excel every year. Consistency has made us the most decorated collegiate triathlon team in the country.
